Why You Need to Create a New Stripe Account with Tessera

Even if you already have an existing Stripe account, you will be asked to create a new Stripe Express account when setting up your Event on Tessera.

Why?

To protect both you and Tessera in case of event cancellations or refund requests, we use a separate Stripe environment.

• Direct payouts: Ticket sales revenue goes directly to your designated individual or corporate bank account.
• Refund support (if enabled): Refunds can be issued directly through Tessera’s dashboard.
• Financial clarity: Your Tessera events are kept separate from any other Stripe-connected activities. </aside>

Cross-Border & FX Fees (Important)

If the event location country is different from the country of your connected Stripe account, an additional 2% FX fee will be applied.

This covers:

• Cross-border card processing
• Currency conversion handled by Stripe

💡 Best practice:

To avoid extra FX fees, we recommend connecting a Stripe account registered in the same country where the event takes place.

1- Access your Stripe Payment Settings

1.1 Click on ‘Manage Events’

1.2. Click on ‘Connect Stripe’

If you have never created an event before, you can access it from multiple locations:

• Your ‘My Events’ dashboard when you are new to the platform.

• You can always access your event from the left-side menu at any time.

• If you have created an event but have not yet connected your Stripe account, you can access it from your dashboard page.

While Tessera allows ticket sales in all countries, you must have a registered entity in one of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong SAR China, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States
